My brother dropped off a load of systems, printers and monitors a friend of his was throwing out. One of the systems has a Lucky Star 5I-TX1/TX2A motherboard and it works OK but the mouse port is disconnected inside the case. Any idea where I plug it in, (I'm assuming somwhere on the MOBO), or can you direct me to any documentation I can research to figure it out?

I tried Google and got a single hit but it's an Italian site and I'm unilingual english. I tried the Lucky Star website but it doesn't seem to be there right now.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I can't find a manual for that board, so I'd suggest just looking for somewhere the plug fits - it's often marked on the board what each socket is.

I can't find anything labled mouse but there is a 5-pin connector on the MOBO right beside the keyboard connection. Tried it in there but still no luck.

that should be the PS/2 connector. it's hard to know if you got all the right wires in the right place though. I had to modify one for an old asus board before.

Got it! There were 2 problems. First, the mouse port was not plugged in. The connector I found beside the keyboard was the right one. The second problem was the mouse is no good. Took one off one of my computers and it works fine. Methinks that old clunker is going to be my fax machine or print server, or make it's way to the junk pile.

THanks for your efforts.
