Hi there,

I am trying to flash the bios on my mobo, but when the bios flash utility gets to looking at the winbond chipset it passes it and then says file not found. Not sure whether I've the wrong bios. The mobo is a k7ama.

Open the case, and look closely at the motherboard. Somewhere near where the model name is printed you'll see either 1. something or 2. something. If it is version 1.x, download the BIOS image on this (http://www.ecs.com.tw/download/k7ama.htm)
page, if it's 2.x the one on this (http://www.ecs.com.tw/download/k7ama2.htm) page. It's the top file on each one. Run the file once you've downloaded it, then copy the resulting files to a floppy disk created using BootDisk's flash disk (http://www.abitfaq.it/Files/drdflash.exe). Set your BIOS boot option to Floppy Disk as the first choice, put the floppy in the drive then reboot. At the prompt, type "awdflash (name of the ROM image, plus extension)" followed by the enter key (excluding the quotes).
