My girlfriend bought a Digital Camera which she can connect to my pc through a normal USB cable. The problem is that she has a laptop with no USB ports. Is there a way she can work around this problem and connect the Digital Camera to a PentiumI MMX Laptop?

Thanks a lot.

M.

Sure just get a usb pc card (pcmcia). Your proably going to want to use windows 98 if you don't already have it, for the usb support. An alternitive if the camera uses smart media or compact flash is to get a pc card reader for that format.

Problem with the card readers is that the parallel version must hook up through the keyboard, if the lappy don't have an external keyboard port it won't get it.

And 2, I don't know for sure if the lack of a keyboard while plugging into a ps/2 port would work, need to touch base with Sandisk for an answer on that one.

I too think the PCMCIA port should offer the best option.

Stores in my area carry a Belkin PCMCIA-->USB card. It runs $80 (may find it for less). The Sandisk reader may be an option if you have an available serial port. I would like to stress that you have to go to Win98 to run USB devices.
