These new adverts

I know someone posted about this, but these new ads on the right hand side are ridiculous.
The pages from Sysopt were large enough at about 40K for what is basically a text page, but now they are close to 200K (189). This may be all well and good for those lucky enough to have a fast connection, but for those of us on 56k (ha 48k at best) it just adds to the purgatory of waiting for the page to load.
I understand that commercially Sysopt has to generate revenue, however there comes a point where you will loose users.

You state it yourself. I'm in the same boat -- bandwidth challenged. Some great sites have gone under, so Sysopt has little choice. You can always "Toggle Images.exe" to speed things up. In defense, at least Sysopt has loaded the ads onto their own servers instead of having to connect to far-away, overloaded ad-servers (or have I been fooled?).

It is better than doing subscription services (http://www.extremetech.com/article/0,3396,s%253D201%2526a%253D6527,00.asp) . I think adding an ad is minor and not that big of a deal. if others things happen, I could see things changing, but not as they are now. the better-than-most content and the best forum attitude (bar NONE!) will keep things afloat.
