I don't know if this should be in the Apps and OS forum or the Networking forum, but someone can move it if need be.:p
I would like to run a website of my PC. I'm currently running XP Pro, so I'm using IIS. I have a cable modem, and have gotten the website up and running.
The problem is I have a dynamic IP address. I know there are services out there that will keep track of my changing IP and keep it assigned to a static domain, but how does IIS locally know? I have to enter my IP in the properties dialog for the default website, but if it still changes on my end, won't I still have to update IIS everytime my IP changes, even if the Dynamic DNS service maintains it on the other side of my modem?
