hey we are trying to do a backup on a few servers. we know how to close the user sessions manually through the server manager in NT4.0 but how can you automate it. say we wanted to disconnect all users at midnight and do a backup of the server, then allow users to reconnect after 4 hours or when the server is done backing up.

anyone have any ideas?

There should be a place in user manager and Active Directory where you set the time that people are allowed to be logged in. It will give them a warning with 5 minutes left, and then when its time, it logs them off of the network.
