just like I said I bought
additional "Hyundai 256mb RAM"
and I installed to my computer
and there is two problems that is SO FRUSTRATING......
first is, computer crashes quite often, specially when I do "3D BENCHMARK"
but when I plyed game, computer doesn't crash as often as "3D BENCHMARK"
and second thing is, when I change my AGP aprteure size from 64mb to 128mb by some program(in the window) the monitor say
"frequency exceeded"
WHY THIS THINGS HAPPEN?
is it simply Hyundai isn't good quality?
I thought Hyndai ram is very good one, if it isn't what company ram should I buy?
(not buy internet)
and I think both of my old ram and new ram is pc 100. what is difference between pc 100 and pc 133? should I change my 256 ram to pc 133?
I HAVE TO RETURN THE RAM OR SOLVE THIS PROBLEM TODAY PLZ PLZ GIVE ME THE SOLUTION
Please give a little more information like what kind of computer are you running and which operating system are you using.

It sounds more like a video card issue than anything else. Not sure about the aperture size thing or not, but when it locks up in 3D apps, then it is typically vid and not RAM. i would make sure I had the newest/ most stable driver. Is the 600 you have an E or an EB (100MHz fsb or 133MHz fsb). If it is EB, then try lowering the fsb 3-4MHz. I have a coworker who built a PIII 833 and his system had this problem. Lowering hte fsb to 130 fixed the problem.
Good luck

thanx daveleau
but this is definitely not a video card problem, because I never had a problem before I put the ram(lock up problem)
and mine is 100mhz, never touched it
I returned the ram to a store and I'm going to order ram in crucial.com I guess it's safest and has best quality.
NOW ALL I NEED TO KNOW IS THIS
can I use pc100 and pc133 together?
because when I checked the old ram it was
pc100 64mb(two = 128mb)
my new ram was pc133 256mb
thx for help
Bad RAM can cause weird problems, but Daveleau is not making that up.
Think about this...you have insufficient memory for all teh apps you run...so you run a game or benchmark...the graphics card does not have to work very hard because it's waiting for the system to respond with new video data to draw. So, then you go and add more memory...now the system has enough resources to run all video calculations without over thrashing the hard drive...that will make the video card work harder, and if it's too hot or weak, it will crash.
As for certain programs making the video go out of range...that is reasonable also. All it takes is a game starting in a default or preset mode that your monitor can not handle.
I would run dxdiag and go to the "More help", Override setting...make sure it's a low value like 60 Hz or so...setting that too high will definitely cause your problem.
Good luck and I hope it is only the memory http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

unless I'm mistaken, if you use both pc100 and pc133 in a system, they both run at 100 mhz, simply for performance reasons I would take out the pc100 memory, or sell the 2 64 MB sticks and buy PC133. prices are cheap enough now that price isn't an issue

is it really true?
mixing pc100 and pc133 makes just 100mhz?
then will it be better just plug new 256mb ram and take out 2 64mb rams?
and can my mobo take DDR RAM?

ok i just gonna buy new 128mb ram and 258ram
because they are so cheap
but I need to know
what is 32meg x 64 has to do with performance
and what is 7.5ns and 8ns
and lastly is all the ram has same size for mobo?
IT'S ALL I NEED TO KNOW
I WON'T BOTHER U GUYS ANYMORE

Yes your memory will only run as fast as the SLOWEST component. If you have PC100 and 133, you will indeed be running @ 100.

Keep in mind that if you're running on a 100MHz bus anyway, pulling the PC100 ram won't help anything. PC133 won't make a system run faster just because it's capable of higher speeds. If you're staying with the 100MHz fsb and have ruled out the ram as a problem, leave both the PC133 and the PC100 in there.
