I just had a AMD k7 computer built. I took my 20 Gig HD out and put the 100 Gig in. Now I want to switch back to the 20 Gig HD but now when I boot up it won't auto detect my 20 Gig HD. I have to manually go in everytime I boot up and hit F3 to auto detect my HD. What can I do to get it to automatically boot up so that I don't have to go into the CMOS and detect it everytime I boot.:x

did you just reset the cmos? you can either do it with a jumper or just remove the battery.

I reset it from the jumper once. Maybe I need to try just taking the battery out. How long should I leave the battery out by the way?.......

probably around 10 seconds at least. if the clock resets, you've done it.

try setting only your hard drives to auto detect and put cdroms to "none".
