While I do believe that Mac's are at least as fast as the fastest PCs, speed is not what sells. Software and hardware availability are the key right now. PCs have such a large amount of things available that Macs do not.

Plus the P4s are multimedia performance chips. Tbirds commonly beat 'em at the same benchmarks. Wonder how the G4 did against the Tbirds? Oh, they don't show that!
