I've got an IBM thinkpad T40 and I am interested in beatmixing, but the stock onboard soundcard only has a 2-channel analog out and a mic in and it stinks.
I'd like a soundcard that can do 4 channels (monitor left, monitor right, master left, master right), and ALSO has digital out because I have a klipsch promedia 5.1 system with an external 5.1 dolby ditital DAC.
I've looked around and only found one device, a PCMCIA card known as the Echo Indigo (http://www.echoindigo.com/).
Even though it's a perfect for me, and also boasts some high quality on-board components, it doesnt have a digital out. I was wondering what other cards existed that could give me the digital out for the 5.1 system.
thanks!
PS is there any way to get the onboard analog out on my laptop to send digital out?
