Mine is a windows ME-this is so slow it takes 5 minutes to get to e-bay-can you tell me step by step how i can clear some of this like format or fdisk and reinstal windows. mine is a 56 k-thanks

I can't quite understand what your saying..What I think your saying is that you have slowdown going to a particular web page(or is it all of them?) Might want to start by clearing your temp internet files.. Please DON'T format or reinstall at this point...:t :eek:

Delete your temporary internet files as mireland said

...then try running Lavasoft Adaware 6 and checking for spyware

....also, update your virus definitions and do a full system scan...if you don't have an antivirus running, i suggest AVG...it works nice, and its free

Soundes like you got a little bit of ram and a lot running in background as well. Go click start, click on run then type in "msconfig". Click on the startup tab and get rid of some of the stuff starting.

Post back here with a list or questions about what can and cant be turned off.
