I'm running windows xp pro. I need to make a boot disk so that when I turn on my computer and it accesses the boot disk, it will copy a specific file to my hard drive and then continue to load windows. How can I do this? thanks

You can't. You can do one or the other, but not both.

In the old days of DOS you could have done that but not since Win2K came out and Microsoft eliminated DOS.

You could create a batch program that would load a command process and then have it load a second copy of command to do the file copy then exit back into the first command process.

That used to be the function of Autoexec.bat wasn't it? But I suppose this is a file that doesn't need to load each session.

I mean if it were just an executable you could just add it to the startup folder. (I'm probably missing the point)

I didn't like having the still image monitor running in background, so I type the command in the RUN before doing scans.
