Chronically late...I have a rollercoaster type problem that seems to always bottom out in the end. To give an example; Everytime I have gotten a new job over the past three years I have seen a pattern establish. The first couple of months I'm always on time or even extremely early for work. Maybe it's because I'm in a new environment and am excited to be there, who know's. but after a while I'll start hitting the 9am time maybe once or twice a week, after a few months this has snowballed into 9am/9:30/9:45/10:15 arrivals almost everyday!

Okay, I know I have a problem...it's obvious, except I haven't had much luck on fixing it or finding help for it. I always manage to spend extra time sleeping or staying up late working on my computer at night. Then when my alarm goes off, I just lay there like a sac of goo.

I'll go from 7:30am the first day and by the end of a year or so it's 9:45 everyday! WTF!

I need some advice bad, I'm stuck in a behavioral pattern that I can't get myself out of. I'm young and I don't need this messing up the rest of my life...aggh! :(

Thanks, Rob :(

Put a radio alarm clock away from the bed>>>turn it wide open on a station you hate (weird loud music)>>>>you will have to get up to cut it off>>>>>works for me.:t

Set up your firewall to block all porn sites, force yourself to forget your passwords...so you won't be up till all hours of the morning...

No...I'm not speaking from experience..either....:D

Depending on how late you are...set your clocks in the house, AND car...about 10 minutes or so fast.

Sounds dumb...but, when I pull up somewhere in my car, it's 10:36..and I think I'm late, it's nice to walk in at 10:28 or so....(given 10:30 is the start time...of course)

Have your significant other paste a Rosie O Donnell
face over their own, and have them wake you up by talking dirty to you...that image should disturb and haunt you enough to wake up!!

Shudder... And make you impotent for the next three months :D

I've always had problems getting up in the morning - the only thing that works for me is *never* to lie in. Alarm goes off, get out of bed immediately, turn shower on cold and step in, then gradually turn it to warm. That's usually enough to get me into the kitchen for two or three cups of coffee, then I'm set

I've thought of that...lol

Good idea!

This is comical. haha

I think my main problem is computer work...I'm always working on something important to me or playing CounterStrike till 2am sometimes 3. **** computer's they rule the world and our lives...lol

I think I need to install an automatic kill switch on a timer for 11pm every week night and then 1am on Friday and saturday nights. Better yet, have the power company cut off my power during those times, so I don't result to watching one of my million dvd's!

Thanks, Rob :t

ok this could be a bad idea not for the weak hearts...

if you have a music system that has an in built alarm system, and that can be customized to play some audio cd at a particular time then it may be very useful. Also setting the volume to the maximum will defintely help.

And i don't mean any audio cd....like those Pan Pipe one's ( that will make you sleep forever..)

get some good hard metal cd's like Theatre of Tragedy, Cradle of Filth, Prodigy, Iron Maiden....

and place the system at some place very near to the front door just close enough to be heard by your neighbours.

Repeat that for 1 week and c the results for yourself, for rest of month you will be more punctual.

To get better results try that for atleast a month.:t

You'll find if you just push yourself to get up the fuzz or grogginess will wear off in a half hour, when you get home if your real tired you will go to sleep alot earlier thus forcing you to go to sleep earlier.

If you wake up feeling dizzy or drunk then you have a health problem and should go see a doctor.

If u are dosing up on caffeine (coffee, cola etc...), that will give u bad sleep. Hard leson to learn that one. I'm very fond of a cup of coffee.

buy a bunch of alarm clocks, position them all around the room.
the problem is setting the alarm time for all of em every night.

Although it seems mundane:

Try to go to bed at the same time every night

No caffeine after 7p.m.

Get up at the same time every day

Don't always take the same route to work

Do things differently to challenge your brain like walking in your place in total darkness

Work out 3 times a week

Do something you find very relaxing a few times a week

etc. etc.
