Welcome to SysOpt :t
Upgrade how? Are you looking for a BIOS upgrade? CPU support? The Biostar website (http://www.biostar.com.tw/) would be a good place to start looking for info.

Hmm... Biostar seem to have forgotten about that board. It uses the Intel 440BX chipset, so any 100MHz FSB Slot 1 P3/Celeron CPU should be OK - a Celeron 800 would work AFAIK. Try emailing Biostar to see if you can get some support from them.

I owned that board. It cannot accept more than a P3 500 or so natively, but it can be sent into orbit with this:

Well I'm not sure what all I'll be able to doto this thing?
I was given this comp. by someone who could not get it to work.
Well I have it working and it seems to be doing fine with winxp pro, It's just oh so slow.

Power leap sounds good though.
This is a Quantum computer, thier web sites or all dead.

I have upgraded the ram to 352 mb pc100

video and sound or ok

I want to add some usb ports to the front andwould like to find out if 2.0 could be supported.

How big of a hard drive can I install? (I was thinking of a 40 gig)

Would a bios upgrade help? and where would I get it?

I have already been to the Biostar site and could not find a listing for this mobo.
I have sent an email and waiting to hear back from them.

If I go with the powerleap 1.4 ghz do you think I will see a n improvment on a 100mghz buss? (For the buck$ that is)

The Powerleap uses a 100MHz Celeron, so it will be fine.

That is a Quantex PC - they are out of business for 3 years now.

USB 2.0 is only 1 year old. That board is 6 years old. No - it doesn't support USB 2.0. You will need to add a PCI card.

Yes - the board should support a 40GB drive.

Good news, I found the manuel for my mobo at www.biostar.com.tw
I have found what I think is a good deal on a hard drive $60 with the cable.
Its a Maxtor ata 133 Cable is 66/100/133
My board manuel says it is 33 but it does not list my board spacificly. I have m6tba ver. 1.4

Do you think my board may be 66?
If not is it backwards compatibale?

I really apriciate ya'lls help!!!!!!!!!!!:D

It's not UDMA66, but you can always use a drive at UDMA33 anyway. You can also add a Promise IDE card.
