You don't have to buy from them, if you like you can ask their salesmen about the memory that will work on your PCV-150.

The results from Crucial.com indicate that her VAIO runs on a 66MHz bus. Both PC100 and PC133 are usually backward compatible and should work fine, but they'll only run as fast as the bus (66MHz)
Here is a list of memory modules that Crucial guarantees to be 100% compatible with the VAIO PCV 150.

...and here's a couple of questions from the Crucial FAQ that should help
Can I use PC133 or PC100 SDRAM in my 66MHz PC? (http://support.crucial.com/scripts/crucial.exe/solution?11=991227-0001&130=000946320597&14=&2715=&15=&2716=&57=search&58=&2900=&25=6&3=PC100)
Should I buy a PC100 module or a PC133 module? (http://support.crucial.com/scripts/crucial.exe/solution?11=001204-0006&130=000975967499&14=&2715=&15=&2716=&57=search&58=&2900=&25=6&3=PC100)
How difficult is it to install memory? (http://support.crucial.com/scripts/crucial.exe/solution?11=991220-0006&130=000945710734&14=&2715=&15=&2716=&57=search&58=&2900=&25=6&3=installing)

been telling my daughter she needs more memory, has 32 mb, lives quite a way from me so cant see her comp. she says has a Sony VAIO mod PCV-150 stats say 32mb SCRAM upgradable to 256. she want to know if PC 100 or PC133. what is the difference, I suspect should be PC100. I think I can walk her husband (hes a programmer) thru installing it by e mail. any advise, may be they can have Best Buy unstall it. TNX

My kids need more memory too. They never remember what I tell them.
You need to upgrade their hd space where the swap file can be placed daytime, don't forget to save before you shutdown them for the night.
