Anybody remember the Rage Fury MAXX? How about the 9800 Pro MAXX?

Now for the oddest cooling solution to date on nVidia's upcoming NV38...

That Nvidia card is one cool baby...all you need is a couple of green neon lights under that covering...would look cool in a galss panel case.

Its a real pitty it probably wont perform though!:p

Too bad the Dual 9800 cards probably won't be mass-produced. It was actually designed by sapphire, not ATi, and blew up on them (literally). But still, just the thought of it is awesome. :D

for those of you who cant read italian, here are both pages translated. Its a crude translation, but you get the message.

page one:

During meeting with Sapphire, a dynamic producer that in last the 10 months is successful to conquer a role a lot important in the market of the cards video with the own products bases to you on chip ATI, only has uncovered a product extremely interesting but, unfortunately, available in prototype shape. A card Sapphire video with 2 dissipators of heat mounts to you? Of what never it will be able to be be a matter? Simple, of a prototype of card Radeon 9800PRO MAXX, equipped therefore of two chip R350 it mounts to you on an only operating PCB and in parallel. A so-called one "dream card", in the sense that would allow unfortunately to obtain velocistiche performances from dream but of a dream draft, not being working. The Sapphire technicians have tried to make to work this card, resolving vary problems of thermal nature (2 not little chip R350 to 0.15 micron of scaldano production process) but the product is not however such from far being able to be also close to the phase of commercialization. It remains however extremely interesting to see as Sapphire has been able to develop this type of technology, this prototype moreover makes very to hope that in a near future Sapphire can be in a position to experimenting with these solutions multichip in an only card, with the next generation of chip vidoe ATI of even wraps high, before with production process to 0.13 micron (is speaking obviously about R423). Interesting to notice

here is the second page:

For being the first day of the Computex, they have been enough fortunate: after the Sapphire prototype of card Dual Radeon 9800PRO it has been the turn of a "fortunate encounter" with two reference board nVidia, of cards NV38 and NV36. Draft of the two models that nVidia will introduce officially in the next month of October, which evolutions respective of the cards 5900 GeForce FX Ultra and GeForce FX 5600 Ultra. Thanks go, obviously, to the source of my images, that it will remain obviously anonymous;) Of continuation the images of the card NV38, solution of wrap high.

I wonder if we will be seeing a whole new breed of cooling based on what MSI is doing, if so, then it may be possible to go faster than ever with that technology, and to keep your comp quiet.

I wouldn't be worried if I was Nvidia. They have the masters of multi-GPU's, the ex-3dfx crew. :t

The crew was really good, lets just hope that the 3dfx management doesnt not take hold, then they will have a problem.

The earlier wildcats were also dual-GPU. For those who can afford it, it is the most efficient solution.
