Why would anybody buy a plain CD-R when for a few bucks more you can have a CD-RW which also writes regular CDs?
Is there any advantage, or am i missing the point?

I'm thinking the CD-RW will come in at a better value in the long run, since I plan to do periodic system back-ups with it, and why waste all those single-write CD's? Mntsnow 08-29-1999, 09:06 PM Well it truely comes down to personal preference.(Doesn't everything though?)...I prefer CDR... 1 SPEED. 2 better compatablity with regular cd-roms, 3 the disks cost less . I'm sure there are other reasons but those are mine /forum/biggrin.gif Mntsnow Bleeding Edge 08-29-1999, 09:54 PM I just started looking at this market last night. Decided on the Yamaha CRW6416SZ www.yamaha.com/cgi-win/webcgi.exe/DsplyModel/?gHDR00007CRW6416SZ (http://www.yamaha.com/cgi-win/webcgi.exe/DsplyModel/?gHDR00007CRW6416SZ) Haven't placed the order yet but I'm pretty sure I'll be getting this one. 6x speed write (12 min./disk) 4x rewrite (up to 1000 erases and rewrites per disk). "High compatibility and super stability" On the cd-r side, I was looking at TEAC's 24x/8x-record or the 24/6. Bleeding Edge 08-29-1999, 11:49 PM Forgot to mention the Yamaha writes to regular CD-R discs. SysOpt.com
