I bought this monitor (17" Samsung SyncMaster 17GLsi) on onsale.com about a month ago. When i received it, i plugged it in and everything seemed to work fine. The monitor screen came on and the three basic colors appeared and said that the monitor is functioning. I unplugged it for about a week, which was about how long it took to build my computer. I plugged the monitor in my newly built computer and the orange standby light comes on. Unfortunately, when the computer is turned on, the green light doesn't appear and the screen doesn't even turn on, instead nothing is on the screen and the orange light turns off. I tried connecting the monitor to my friends working computer to see if it was my newly built computer or graphic card but the monitor didn't work either. I also tried hooking up his monitor to my newly built computer and the computer and monitor work fine. I can't even get the three colors and the beginning message anymore. By the way, I'm running a Pentium III - 500 with a Voodoo 3000 AGP w/ 16MB Video Card. I'm really stuck, IF ANYONE CAN HELP PLEASE EMAIL ME. THANK YOU. Could it be the cord?
Sounds bad. I would contact the seller as soon as possible, also if you paid by credit card call your CC co. right away!
I once bought used monitor at show, seller promised 60 day guarantee. It failed after 1 week. Couldn't get answer at his phone #, so called Visa. They put a chargeback to his account pending resolution. Eventually did get with him & settled it with no problem, but it's good to have some backup!
Also you may be able to place claim with shipping co. if it was insured during shipment. This might be tough, though, since it's been this long.
Anyway, whatever you do, do quickly!

Hi ShortDahRi ~
Only one post is really needed in the proper forum for you to get the answers you need, in this case the Video and Monitors. You'll find that it's easier for people to respond to a single post, and easier for you to find the answers. /forum/wink.gif Thanks.

Try this:
I bought a brand new 19" Trinitron monitor directly from DELL. When i turn the computer on before the monitor i don't get anything on the screen, but when i turn the monitor on and then the computer it works fine.
I'm not saying that this is definitely your problem, but it might help.
Good luck.
p.s. In any case contact Onsale and your credit card co. IMMEDIATELY.
