At 12:30am it's what it has been for years and then I go back on at 1:30am and POOF! it's BLUE. Warthog hawkeye177 07-17-2001, 10:41 PM I really dont like. It is so small. I saw it a while ago. Couple hours ago Warthog 07-18-2001, 10:06 PM ****...hotmail's turned all frickin' iMac on me now................................. Warthog HomeYield 07-19-2001, 05:13 AM Mine just changed today. I checked it last night and it was the same. This morning it has been completely revamped. Weird looking. I was wondering what you guys were talking about but now I know. Cody 07-19-2001, 05:23 AM I like everything about it, except that the buttons are very ugly.... anywhoo... :-) dyer_maker 07-19-2001, 06:40 AM 2 days ago at like midnite it looked like that...i thought i was really drunk or something because the next day at work it looked normal again. Then late last nite it looked all goofy again...but this morning it still looks goofy. I think it looks stupid!!! jgargac 07-19-2001, 01:48 PM I saw it earlier today. I'm not that impressed with it. Hopefully, they will allow users to go back to the old way. I really dislike it when you are not given a choice. But then again, I suppose I do. I can always go somewhere else. Jeff edwelly 07-19-2001, 03:00 PM I know I am in the minority but I like it. Why not blue... it would be better thought if you could change it or at least change the colors... just a thought... oh and maybe a cool dancin' monkey screen. (just kiddin' about the monkey screen or am I? mmmmmmmm) ---erik AnakiMana 07-19-2001, 03:56 PM I like a lot of the things they did. Like the folders off to the side when viewing the Inbox. And when sending a message, the quick addressing thing where you just click on their nickname off to the right. I'm just worried cuz they got rid of the "bulk mail" folder. Now am I going to get all that **** in my inbox?? We'll see. One thing I would like to see is a function to download a folder as a zip file or something. That way I could archive onto my home computer. If they're only gonna give us 2mb to store messages, they should give us a downloader for mail. I urge everyone to try Excite mail. It rocks! I've been using it for about a year. It lets you download messages, but only one at a time. They give you 3mb instead of Hotmail's 2mb. AnakiMana OC Guy 07-19-2001, 04:03 PM I hate it, and I would keep getting "The page cannot be displayed. The page you are looking for is currently unavailable." deal. But, if i refreshed the page it would suddenly find it! To many bugs. [QUOTE]If it ain't broke, don't f*ck with it!! [/QUOTE Bonehead 07-19-2001, 05:51 PM The login screen is greeding me in my own language, that is new for me. They must have checked my IP, since I never filled any information about me when I got me this Hotmail account some years ago. Ofcourse surfing the internet is never anonymous as we know. Ritalin Kid 07-19-2001, 06:00 PM It's a little different but it's free so what can I say.. I like it.. RamonGTP 07-19-2001, 06:36 PM I welcome the new change, the older style was too bland for me. Either way, you can't really complain, its a FREE service people. -Ramon Crimson_Waylander 07-19-2001, 08:02 PM Oh great, now Hotmail looks like the rest of the default Windows XP theme / interface. XP'izing the world. What a spooky thought. Warthog 07-19-2001, 08:46 PM Yep a "free" service....isn't it great when they take you to the main MSN page (while still "in" hotmail) to let you look at all the pretty ads and articles? Warthog Speed 07-19-2001, 10:23 PM I have MSN internet, and this hotmail looks almost the same to the way MSN has its email program on MSN explorer. If anyone is considering getting MSN.... DONT DO IT! It's not very good. rh71 07-19-2001, 11:17 PM I have no problems with the changes, except that they've moved the actual emails to the left margin, which takes a bit of getting used to. What I've hated most about Hotmail is the way they handle links. When you click on a link from within a Hotmail email, they have that **** frame up top and the URLs in the opened window are f'd up because of it. WTF, NONE other email service does that... give us the benefit of the doubt - we're not dumb. It's funny though,... when it's a Microsoft link within an email (like an email from their Personal Support page)... it doesn't show that frame when clicked upon. Clever... you !@(*$!@s. MindlessVictim 07-20-2001, 12:33 AM Geez people.... I don't own a Mac, but Lord knows they do the job correctly, if you don't put cheap stuff in them! Man O man... how did anyone perceive the new Hotmail interface as Mac-ish??? Insult to injury. Please don't take offense. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I'm just messin'. As for the whole interface thingy, yes, MS is XP-ing the world. Back to the Mac thing... XP vs. OS X on style??? OS X, hands down. But as for Hotmail, it's not as bland now, and I like a couple new things, such as the abbreviated address book on the compose page. As an IE user, great. But I've also started using Opera 5.12 as of recent, and not everything works. More MS "standard" code. Female 07-20-2001, 05:40 AM Did you notice that they will be gutting your sent messages folders of any messages older than 30 days? The "Janitor" will be doing that. Goldwingnut 07-20-2001, 08:33 AM When you log out, it sends you to MSN.COM. Even if your home page is something else entirely. It seems to me that MSN.COM doesn't respond to the STOP icon, or attempts to load another page. If I try to interrupt the loading of MSN.COM or load another page, it just ignores me and continues to load MSN. jgargac 07-20-2001, 09:34 AM I am getting used to the new interface and am starting to enjoy it. However, there is one feature missing that I really liked. Before, if I had new mail it would automatically take me to my inbox. Now, I get put at Hotmail Home and am shown a bunch of stuff that I don't care about. I've looked through the options. Anyone know how to correct this or if it is possible? Thanks, Jeff Warthog 07-20-2001, 11:47 AM how did anyone perceive the new Hotmail interface as Mac-ish??? Suppose I should have clarified myself...it instantly reminded me of two things: the queer appearance of iMacs and the happy-go-lucky, everything is peachy interface of the Mac (IMHO). Anyhew, macs are not the issue... Now, I get put at Hotmail Home and am shown a bunch of stuff that I don't care about My point exactly. Warthog Warthog 07-20-2001, 01:19 PM I was happy with Email.com until they started screwing around...I had avoided Hotmail like the plague....now I see why. It's run by a Nazi dictatorship that tries these suttle ploys at gaining money (ie promoting MSN up the ****), thinking we don't notice and/or we don't care. Warthog HKS 07-21-2001, 12:04 AM The new look is ok. But i do not like how its setup. im use to the old way when you have a new message, they take you to the inbox. Now you have to click another link. Yes, im lazy.hehe http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif hawkeye177 07-21-2001, 11:35 PM I changed my mind. I like it now. SysOpt.com
