Soudns like you have some wires crossed somewhere. I bet some hefty current wielding cable is crossing over some inadequately shielded cable for your stereo. Otherwise, it could be a wiring problem in the house. We had a problem where the modem could be heard through my roommates stereo speakers 2 rooms away. I remedied this by getting a cable modem. Never found the source.

Get an AC Line tester. You may have a reversed or missing ground somewhere! With that you'll hear all kinds of noise in your speakers, telephones, etc. This can also be dangerous to PC's - even on a UPS. I found out the hard way.

I have Altec Lansing ACS 33's and they do this once in a while, but it is barely audible... I think it's because the speakers aren't completely shielded....

When I use to work in a computer shop I Do remember having some problems with "Ghosts" in the work area. I would be alone while my boss was out to play and kept hearing someone talking. For some reason one of my test speakers that I used for sound testing would pick up CB radio waves. It freaked me out for the longest until I found the problem. However the speakers was not sheilded and the other ones were. Another problem may be how many amps your pushing through your cirucit or a bad ground that is getting feedback. Too many amps on a single cirucit can cause all kinds of problems.

Fan's have a great way of causing interference. Try putting your fan next to your monitor and watch the waves. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I've got a pair of IBM speakers and bass unit and when they are on (whether the computer is on or not) every so often they will pick up either an English or German radio station, sometimes it is quite loud!! It's always English or German though!
