Anyone use Diskeeper? I downloaded the demo to try on a computer that hasnt been defragged since I put it together about 6 months ago because the windows defragger locks up at about 30% and so does Norton's.
Diskeeper went all the way thru and the performance gain was noticeable, seems to be a good product.

It's the free one to use with NT

I'm not sure how well it works with 9X

The NT demo version (Diskeeper Lite) will only work on NT4, not Win2k or Win9x.

I use Diskeeper and use it for all my systems. I have the full version of 5. As you may have noticed, the demo version is a crippled version where it has some great features left out. Just to name a some, Boot Time Defragmentation, Frag Guard, Exclusion List, Scheduled Task, etc...

I use it for all Microsoft OS's and I think it's great. What takes forever to defrag om Win98, is done much faster.

Win2k comes with Executive Diskeeper which is a stripped down version of the retail version...

Yep, same here...
I have the full version of Diskeeper 6.0 and I use it all all my Win 2000 PC's (server and Pro).
I like the "Set it and Forget it" option. It schedules a defrag automatically.

Diskeeper Rules! I'm still using version 5.x I bought a year ago. It works on Win2k/NT & Win9x.

The installer has both versions. With the program you can defrag multiple drives at the same time. I also think it's much faster than both the Microsoft version (Win2k & Win9x) versions.

The system I described above is Win98, I downloaded a 9x version as well as a version for Win2kPro. The Exclusion List is there, so is Scheduling, Boot Time Defragmentation, and Frag Guard. It appears to be a fully functional demo on a 30 day trial period.
The version is Diskeeper 6.0 Second Edition as listed on their site.

I'm running Diskeeper 7.0.398.0 under XP and really like the product.....

However, one of my PC's will no longer (ie "used to") auto re-boot after any boot time task completes. System just sits there with the reboot notice on the screen until I manually restart.

I'm pretty sure this isn't a problem with Diskeeper, but probably some registry setting -- since it happened only on my "tweaking" system.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
