A couple of years ago I read somewhere you could make your own custom screen resolutions (example: 600x600) in windows. You were supposed to edit some file or the registry, there would be a list of avaiable resoloutions and you just had to add the custom one to the list. Then in the display properties, it would be a selectable resolution.
Does anybody know how or what you are supposed to edit to accomplish this?
Thanks

I've got a question on the same level, I think. Why would you want to do that? Your screen is rectangular. Why have a square shaped screen?

The reason I want to make a custom screen resolution is one of my monitors is screwed. The horizontal size and control is fried. So a res. of 800x600 looks like 1000x600. I am using scitech display doctor to crunch it down to a useable size, but I am going to be putting in a different video card in that machine. Scitech does not support it because the card is to new. So I figured if I could make the resolution 600x600 the screwy monitor will make it appear 800x600.
