Hi All,

I want to buy a laptop and am really confused. I am looking for something that really is a desktop replacement. What I would like would be a 1ghz or higher with 15' screen, 30+HDD,32mb Video card, composite video out. The only thing that comes close is the Dell Inspiron 8000 1ghz PIII,256 ram, 48gig HDD, 32mbDDR GeForce video. I know this is not what this thing is supposed to be used for, but I want to be able to play the same games I play on my Athlon 1.2 system. I would prefer an IBM ThinkPad, but from what I can see, the best video card they have is 16mb. I don't think I would get very good framerates with this. To add to the confusion, should I wait for the Tualatin PIII's to come out at the end of the month, or is the performance difference negligable. Are there any other systems that I should be looking at that would fit the above specs, or should I just wait a little while longer? ThanX !!!!

The Inspiron 8000 is the best gaiming laptop right now. You definately want a GeForce Go card if you want a gaming laptop. The Geforce also has dual moniter support. Meaning you can hook up an external moniter and run dual moniter. Not dual moniter like same screen on both moniters, but two different screens, one on each moniter. Very cool.
Rumor is that ATI is coming out with a mobile Radeon to compete with the Geforce Go (basicly a geforce 2 mx). I hope this starts a mobile vid card war and legit mobile vid card cards hit the market.
Get the Dell I8K you won't be sorry.
