I bought a Pentium iii CPU at 800 MHz
last month.Usually the temperature of
CPU is about 56 Centigrades,sometime
even 60 Centigrades.Is that abnormal?
How can I identify if so?

That is quite high,My PIII800@1155 is running 33.6c right now crunching genome (100% load).
What type of cooling do you have?Do you have thermal paste between your heatsink and core?

It appears that you may need to give closer attention to cooling. As I know, Intel P3 800's don't run that hot. My socket 800E's were running at about 30C at idle and about 37C on max load. Never have I seen it get in the 40's. My buddy also has a dual socket 800EB setup with stock heasink/fan and runs at about the same temperature.

My system runs at the highest of 37 degrees Centigrade... that is when it has been on for weeks and is doing heavy processing (I do distributed.net)

Otherwise normally about 30

My new PIII 667 just barely hits 50C under load. Hey it's a hell of a lot better than the Celeron 600 it replaced which likes to flirt with the 70C mark regularly...
