How come? fishybawb 09-13-2003, 10:12 AM You probably installed the HSF backwards - check that the cutout on the bottom of the heatsink matches up with the step on the socket. mattyt69 09-13-2003, 06:55 PM It was installed the right way around but gave high temp????? I am back with the Tt again, despite the noise. ComPooTer 09-13-2003, 10:00 PM did u apply thermal paste? mattyt69 09-14-2003, 12:27 PM Na, it already had a pad thingy and the instructions said not to use paste. I haven't come across the pad thing before though. ichorid 09-14-2003, 12:59 PM pads arent as good as paste, but not 20C difference. remeber tho, is is stock cooling, so dont expect better than hot. just find a quiet fan for the volcano SysOpt.com
