I am thinking about buying a Canon BJC-2110 Printer. I don't print a lot. So I need the cheapest functional printer on the market.
Does anyone else have the BJC-2110? How well does it work?

Look, I can't speak for that model, but my experience with Canon printers has been horrible.
I've got a multifunction machine that'll do everything, and does it well - WHEN IT WORKS!
Several friends also have Canon inkjets, all have had problems. But admittedly, these all occurred a couple years ago.
Primarily, the ink carts & printheads dry out FAR too quickly if not used constantly. And I can't help noticing that the 2110's specs list those exact same cartridges!! Which are expensive to replace.
If you get it, plan to print something every few days no matter what.
I gave up totally & went to an HP laserjet.
Another thing - their service!
Fought with them a long time over it. After much hassle & one exchange, they admitted there was an ink-handling problem with it. But no resolution was ever reached. They'll exchange the unit, sure - as long as you keep buying those ink carts!! which they won't replace, no matter how many it ruins!!
I will never own another product of any kind with the Canon name on it!!

I guess I shouldn't buy the Canon printer. Can you recommand a printer that might suit my needs? I am a college student so I don't have a lot of money. I need to be able to print in colors once a while. I prefer a USB printer if possible. And I probably need to print about twice a month (~5 pages per month). Are there any printers out there I should get?
Thanks!

I would go with the Lexmark Z23 for around 89.00 thats not bad for 1200 X 1200 DPI and 8ppm. I just replaced my HP 660C with one.

The reason I am considering the Canon BJC-2110 is because they are currently having a mail-in rebate.
It seems the price of the cartridge (~$30) is more than the printer itself (after the rebate). What a rip off!
How about the Lexmark Z-22? It is cheaper than the Z-23. Does anyone own the Z-22?

I have the BJC-2100 printer and i have not had any problems with it. The cartridges for mine are pretty cheap. Black is around $10 and Color is aroung $20.

STBEL4,
Where can you find cartridges for $10? Most place sell them for around $30.
Did you have any of the problems described by Ed_S?
