I am trying to maximize my 3dmark 2003 score, its somewhat pointless as I run it at a different config then I run the computer, but I want to see what I can get out of it. Here are the specs:

Athlon 2800+
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
1gb (2x512) Crucial PC3200
Radeon 9800 pro 128mb
Audigy 2 sound card
WD 120gb 7200rpm HD

Nothing is overclocked, I want to give the components a few more months before I start voiding warrenties.

Anyways, first I downloaded it and ran it. I didn't reboot, had a few programs running (Norton Internet and Antivirus), and left all the settitngs at quality. Scored 1894

I set the OpenGL and Direct3D to full performance, took Norton Apps off startutp, and rebooted. Scored 5537

I downloaded/installed Catalyst 3.7 and the 3dmark 2003 patch. Reboot. Scored 5562

Is there anything else I can do to bump it without OC'ing or is that about it?

Thanks Jakk, just wanted to know if I missed any small settings. Its a pretty good score, happy enough with it. Sort of a pointless thing to do, since I don't run it in my normal config, but was more curious then anything else.

The only thing you can do to maximize your score except overclocking is press Crtl + Alt + Del before benchmarking and close all running apps except Systray, Explorer and Sstray (the last is the nForce2 chipset driver control program).

Another good thing would be to get the smallest 7200RPM drive you can get, and install only XP and 3dmark on it! :D :x

Or you can get an SCSI card and install a 36GB 15000rpm drive and install XP and 3DMark03 ob it!

Or even... install 98SE! That is better for 3dMark score apparently :p
