Every heard of it?
I guess it's a new one from CL. It's in the Sept. issue of Maximum PC on page 25. It sounds like it can play the role of one of those $99 digital cameras. "When undocked, WebCam GO Plus' 8mb of memory (7mb for pics and 1mb for voice annotation), focus-free lens, and single-snap or burst mode lets you take pics of anything your heart desires - even self-timed shots. The VGA CMOS image sensor will capture still images in 24-bit color at resolutions up to 640x480" "When undocked" - Does it run on batteries also? This is exactly what I have been looking for - a cheap digital camera and a cheap digital camcorder.
I'm going to find some more info on this.

Ok, I'm hooked.
Max PC was right when they dubbed this "the Swiss Army Knife of web cams".
It can use batteries and be a portable digital camera and digital camcorder!
It has 4 modes when it is portable:
Use the Single Snapshot Mode for an instant point-and-shoot photo.
If you want to be in the photo, use the Delayed Single Snapshot, which gives you time to set the camera and get into the frame within a specific length of time.
Take advantage of the Multiple Snapshot Mode, when you want to catch your subject in action. The Multi-frame mode of WebCam Go Plus allows video mode capturing. Surprise your subject and have fun with capturing all his different expressions. On top of that, you can create an AVI file out of these snapshots!
To capture yourself practising the golf swing, use the Delayed Multiple Snapshot Mode to analyze each movement! The default delay time is 8 seconds.

I want to get one - but I gotta pay off my new computer first. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

Stupid me, duh! Its already out.
Going rate is $196Cdn @ Onvia.com
Great price, but their description says its a 4mb version. Is that a typo or is there actually 2 different versions of it?
One down side is that it uses 2 AAA batteries.
Of course though, portability is a big plus! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I assumed there was only an 8mb version. You should search other sites.
Yeah, as I said, I really wanted a digital video cam but they are like $900. I know this won't be as good, but it takes decent quailty video - all I care about. I also wanted a digital camera but they are around $400 for a good one. This takes decent pictures - all I care about http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif.
Glad you like it. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Can it be true?? Sounds like Creative may have licked their problems with the original Webcam Go. They say the CMOS imaging sensor is improved, and if the software bugs have been overcome, it's going to be the one to get. They don't have the Plus in yet (just the original Go), but a local store will let me do a trial for a week or so before I buy.....I just may trade in my trusty old Intel webcam!!
