I just started overclocking for the first time so I downloaded pcmark to check the increase in scores. The first time it ran the program went all crazy and said it could not finish because the cpu lost focus. then I switched my multi and fsb back to the default, but when i ran pcmark again the same thing happened. what does this mean???

Maybe you overclocked your CPU too high, and now something (CPU, memory, mainboard) is damaged. Use prime95 and memory testing programs (I would recommend GoldMemory, because it was the only one, which reported memory errors when my system was oced).

I just ran 3dmark03 and played some games for an hour and everything is normal. Just dont get why i cant finish a pcmark test.

I also had memory problems, that only caused, that prime95 failed, and everything else ran normal (including all memory testing programs). So that all your games run normal doesnt indicate, that your memory is good. Maybe one bit at the end of a cluster which is at the end of your addressing space is corrupt, but its nearly never used by any games and not tested by memory testing programs (I dont believe that they test each single byte, because it would take too long), only by PCMark02 and prime95.

So run prime95 for 24 hours. If it reports an error, you probably have a hardware problem, if not you probably have a software problem.
