I just sat a bottle of coke that i walked home with on the floor, i went to pick it up and..... BOOM! The bottles lid blew off and the coke was spraying everywhere!
It went on my computer :(
I quicky fought the bottle closed and grabbed a pillow to wipe my computer down. The coke went alittle bit into the grate on the front of the case, next to the powerbutton, and narrowly missing my USB port to go into the side of one of those plates that cover up the bits where CD drives are put

What should i check for... will it be fine?:t

Just wipe it off and sit a fan in front of it a let it dry for now. Then give it a try;)

Dip the whole PC in Pepsi to quickly neutralize the Coke.

it was on at the time, but will it have clogged a case fan or sumink

This will probably be a razzing post and will probably have to move it or leave it as a putting you in the stocks post for everybody else's pleasure. Computers being what they are somebody will want to vent on you.

Shut it off and clean it up!!! If that coke got on any metal conductive parts, wash em off with lotsa water and let em dry real well, maybe take a hair dryer to em. There's lotsa acid in coke and anything with juice going thru it will really have electrolysis and corrode very quickly, you need to get it off there. :t

Don't feel so bad, I once dropped a full open pepsi can on a mixing console :eek: :eek: :eek: and finished the gig all sticky! :eek:

The next day I disassembled and washed and dried that whole board and used it for years after :D

You would think that you would have learned from the first time... I recommend that tomorrow, on your way home, buy a 2 liter bottle and shake it the whole way home. Then, after having turned on your machine, open up the panel, aim the top of the bottle at the CPU, and open quickly...

Let us know how that goes...
