I was surfing thru Antec's site today and found this (http://www.antec-inc.com/product/fans/jetcool.html) .

I like the idea of the copper center core with the radial fins, the copper should suck the heat from the cpu pretty well, and if the fins do their job it should cool pretty well. I ordered one just to try it out, I'll give an update when it comes in. It looks like a good concept, but I can't find any reviews on it, what do you guys & gals think?

I might junk the original fan and put on an adapter for an 80mm fan (hate noise from Delta 60mm!) and run one of the high flow Panaflow fans on it.

Looks promising. Let us know.

As far as heat conduction goes... Copper is the hands down winner. The copper core will make a big difference.

OK, here's the specs, right from the package...
Overall Dimensions - 62L x 62W x 49H (mm)
Weight - 200g
Thermal Resistance - 0.53 C/W
Aluminum radial folded fin wrapped around solid copper rod 29mm (dia) x 34mm (height)
Fan - 60mm x 15mm ball bearingfan @ 4700rpm
24.1cfm @ 35.2dBA (12v/0.22A)

I like the size and light weight of this HSF, but I think that the stock fan has to go, it just doesn't push enough air thru the heatsink. I don't like the noise level of the Delta Black Label, so I'm ordering a fan adapter, and will be installing a Panaflo 80mm Hi Output fan.

Right now, with the stock fan installed, these are my temps...
ambient room temp - 78F
ambient case temp - 79F
CPU temp @ idle - 84F
CPU temp @ 100% - 117F

I'm running a 900 T-bird on an Abit KT7-RAID mobo, inside an Antec KS-282+ case, with 1 Antec slot fan, 2 80mm exhaust fans, and 1 80mm intake fan. I used Sandra2001's burn in test, which runs the cpu, memory and drives benchmarks continuously. After running the test for 20 minutes to get the max temp, I then let the computer idle, it returned to 84F in about 3.5 minutes.

The only prep work that I did on the Jetcool was to remove the stock thermal pad, check the mating surface for true, and then polish it to a mirror finish. I then applied Arctic Silver II heatsink compound. Installation was very easy, I like the clip design a lot!

I'll have another update when the bigger fan and adapter come in, and I get them installed.
