I've always clocked my restart times. now I'm running a dual boot system. Win98 and WinY2K.

Restart your PC and from the time it takes from pressing the OK button on Restart to fully booted back up, what are your seconds for WinY2K O/S?

51 Seconds Here
minus 3 seconds dual boot menu =
48 Seconds

If you think you are experiencing an abnormally long boot up time, check out Bootlog Examiner v1.2 http://members.nbci.com/jescott/index.html

Cheers and let the contest begin!
My apologies MntSnow.

My workstation running 2kpro takes 48 seconds minus 5-7 seconds in where I type in my user and password

My 2kServer takes 1 min 24 seconds (thats with me typing in my user/password and deducting 7 seconds to do so)

My 2k Advanced Server takes just shy of 2 mins (again with time deducted for user/password)

Want you to know I killed my uptimes to do this test!

About 1:45 sec for my dual workstation setup with SCSI. It takes longer since it needs to boot the SCSI BIOS, RAID BIOS, Default BIOS and also needs to detect 3 SCSI devices and 7 IDE devices. As for my other IDE based systems, it takes about 40 seconds.

Dual-Boot Win2k/Win98. Tbird 945Mhz. 512 RAM 133Mhz. SCSI U160HD

My Win2k boots to splash in 1 min 25 seconds. Measuring load after login useless as machine specific (services/apps).

My Win2Kpro takes almost forever to boot. I'm not sure why, but it hangs half way through for a few minutes.
