Splinter Cell - strange problem-need help

It loaded fine, it played fine, and than I logged out never to be able to play again. once I came back to it all menues are unreadable , where the words should be are only grey boxes. Even my pointer turns into a white box when I launch splinter cell and the game itself looks like a negative photo. All other games such as morrowind work just fine. I tried reinstalling it , installed the patch. reinstalled drivers and still no good. I dont understand how the game could have played perfectly one minute and do this the next. If anybody has any ideas what this might be related to please let me know its got me totaly stumped.

My OS is windows 2k pro

vid card is 128 meg gforce 4 ti 4200-chaintech

512 megs sdram

abit MB

guillemont fortissimo 2 sound card

try uninstalling it again, make sure to go to your C drive and remove any remaining files that are related to splinter cell, if you have save points store them in my documents some where, then reboot your system and run a scandisk, you may have some bad files in your system, allso run a defrag this may help, it has helped me in the past :) one more thing, have you OC your video card latly?

Thanx crazycrusher, will try the scan disk, I did notice that I have a program that I cant get rid of, Im not sure if thats interfering with splinter cell although if it is ,why wouldnt it affect other games? Any way this program wich I downloaded from gamespot.com is a download manager for downloading clips of movies on their website. I noticed it running constantly in the backround and when i went to remove it it just locked up the add/remove programs app. Ive tried deleting the folder but it says some of the files are being used by widows, some times I dont know why I bother with PC gaming when consoles are sooo dependable:confused:

I would prolly try spybot to or addware, you can download them free hand downloads.com, you may have some spy ware in your system from that download, PC gaming naaa I love it, as many bigs as some games have I still love em, you can do alot more with them, mods,addone etc.

well no good on all counts i finaly deleted that programs files, I did a scan disk, reinstalled the game and nada, zero zilch, amazing how it worked perfectly for hours until I logged out and never ran properly again. May be a fresh install of windows will do the trick, or maybe buying an X-box.
