Hi, I have a windows 98 se computer setup with a modem connecting to the internet and another computer on the network that I want to share the internet with. I installed ICS on the computer with the modem and setup the ICS client on the other computer however on the client computer I get a DNS server error when I browse the net. The computers use static IP addresses so once ICS was installed on the host computer I changed the IP from the default of 192.168.0.1 to its own IP address and set the Gateway of the client computer to the IP address of the host. I also tried setting the DNS address of the client computer to firstly the IP address of the host which did not work and then to the DNS given by the ISP but this also did not work. Any suggestions. Could it be that you must have the IP address on the host set at 192.168.0.1 for ICS to work?????

You must also use a crossover cable between PCs and then run INETWIZ from the client, specifying LAN all the way.

you cannot disable the dhcp allocator service, but you can use the highest IPs (254 and below) as static. ICS automatically distributes IPs from 192.168.0.2 and on.
