Ok well I dug an old 1.4 gig HD outta my closet and stuck it in my other box. Anyways I fdisked and formatted it and put Linux on it but during boot up where it lists the drives and info about them this drive comes up as

"Pri. Slave Disk: CHS, PIO4, 1423MB"

What is CHS ? My fist HD comes up as LBA

Anyone know what CHS is?

Cylinders Heads Sectors
CHS is one of the modes that BIOS will recognize a hard drive, that and LBA mode (which i think stands for Large Block Addressing). I've used both, but i'm not sure which performs best.
