Yes, you read that right. I recently fixed my friend's Pavilion by changing out HP's XP for 2000 Pro. She likes the Fisher-Price look better than Win2k's industrial iron-grey look (I don't blame her) so what can I offer her? Preferably freeware but whatever works best, we've just overcome the nightmare of a year of stability issues. Something small and simple if possible. Thanks! :t

dunno about a specifically winxp look for win2k, but here are a couple of sites:

Windowblinds, as posted earlier by Midknyte definitely has WinXP themes (I fooled my boss into thinking I upgraded from Win2Kpro). Gjimene2 is correct though, it is a horrible resource hog.
What were your issue with XP? I actually did make the convert and after killing all sorts of "friendly and helpful" apps on start-up and services.... it has run for me just as stable as Win2K ever did.

Honesty, in WinXP Pro, I only used the PPPoE dialer built in, and under all of the display I have everything de-selected except for "Drop shados on icons" and "use comon tasks".

I also use the classic windows theme :p

I'll second SWORDFISH's recommendation of Desktop Architect. BiPolarBill turned me onto it several months ago. No spyware or loss of resources using it.

Thanks! In fact I have since gone and upgraded her to XP Pro, but it's being flaky.... we may just revert to 2000 and go with DA.
