SCSI DVD ROM

Is there such a thing as a SCSI DVD ROM drive?
If so, why have i not been able to find one?
If not, why not?

I don't think many companies want to jump into it unless it does become popular (as it is to a mediocre extent now). Computer manufacturers (HP, IBM, Compaq, Dell, etc) are just slapping them into new computers to seem more attractive. Also, there's not many DVD titles out there, so not many people who own computers with regular CD-ROM drives find the need to buy IDE DVD drives, much less SCSI DVD drives.

I heard Pioneer made a SCSI DVD rom drive, although it's quite expensive.

Why doesn't anybody else (like Sony, for example) make one?
