I just reinstall Windows Xp and it so fast that won't take more than 8second and get in Windows XP. My system only boot 3time on that bar and get into Windows.
now after i installed most of my stuff back.. right now it load 6time on the bar.

Clean up the startup items in msconfig or use Startup Control Panel (http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml)

i would be really happy with that result. 10 to 25sec i think should be considered normal.
anyways try using bootvis and c if it makes any difference.

The post install boot 'is' fast.
If your box is still booting like this in a couple of days time please publish your OS settings and setup.

my XP boot takes 5 minutes :( don't worry about your 16seconds matey!
And before anyone asks, it's something in the services.exe program that is causing the hang-up. I just can't/haven't tried to figure out what!

disabling some useless services may also help.

already disable messenger, auto update, send error, vitual effect to best performance...
i think more stuff in harddrive it load longer... :D
By the way my PC is just athlon 1700xp, 576 SD-Ram, Voodoo 4500.... :p

well, thats strange i have a PIII 1gig,384 sd,60gb barracuda here and XP boots in 18 sec flat...:rolleyes: its loaded with office2K, Vmware, and whole lot of other sharewares and freewares...though i do a defrag now and then.

man, - that is way fast - good for you- 9 seconds for me on a laptop, 12 on a desktop running the usual stuff (even though I've had XP crash 3 times in 2 1/2 years)
but having seen the martial arts ad and the picture of the motorcycle, I now have a completely different perspective on this thread - I'll either karate chop my desktop if xp fails me again, or run it over with my neighbor's dirt bike
