Are people who buy computers and their components off the web auctions crazy? I was looking to buy a cheap laptop(P166 w/cd drive) just to have around. Maybe load Linux on it and have as a cheap, portable second computer. The ones I've had my eye on have gone for $325 on up close to 500 bucks. For a P150, P166, and P233. I know laptops are more expensive, but give me a break. I think people lose sight on what they are bidding on and get caught up in the excitement of being the winning bidder.
Anyone??????

I know what you mean, some persons junk is always some persons gold. Its the same old thing: Supply and demand.

If there is a good market for it, it will always be overpriced.

I tried to buy in CDN an old 486 pci computer (just case and the motherboard and power supply) and the dude wanted $150 bucks. What a rip off.

Search harder and you should find a better deal.
