Does anyone know of a utility that will check RAM to make sure it is working good. I bought my little bro a stick of PC133 SDRAM. It was just a generic brand. We both have identical pc's and it works in mine, but when I put it in his it recognizes it in the BIOS, but once Windows has completely loaded it just locks up? Any suggestions?

Try SiSoft's Sandra at: http://www.sisoftware.demon.co.uk/sandra/

It will tell you information about the RAM. I think it is the SPD information. You can also benchmark it with the is tool.

Also give this a try: http://www.viahardware.com/download/WPCREDIT/ctspd092.zip

This is C'Ts SPD utility, it is referenced in this article: http://www.viahardware.com/wpcreditkt133.shtm

Simmtester has a great utility that works from a boot disk. You can get it here (http://www.simmtester.com/PAGE/products/doc/docinfo.asp) .

Good luck
