Have you flashed the BIOS recently? It sounds like the BIOS was either flashed with the wrong ROM image, or has been corrupted somehow.
Get the correct BIOS ROM from here (http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/bios/bos/spt_bos_detail.php?UID=100), then follow the instructions under "Award" found here (http://www.msi.com.tw/html/support/bios/note/boot.htm).
Hope that helps.

Have you tried flipping the floppy cable over at the drive end? It sounds like it's misconnected.

You were trying to use a bootable floppy weren't you? You can get a program to make one from BootDisk.com (http://ftp.sanguine.net/pub/sahughes/drivers/via/VIA_EPIA_Mini_ITX_Mainboard_BIOS_update/drdflash.exe) if not.
