Ever since about a month ago, whenever i try to d/l alot of things from www.3dfiles.com (http://www.3dfiles.com) my IE just crashes. Yet when i do the same files on my other, slower computer it doesn't crash. Has only been doing it since my latest format and windows install, running win98se, 620MB ram (was 128 until a couple days ago), 1Ghz tbird etc.... I have the same problem with IE5.5 and IE6. Any ideas???

probably means the page does not respond to any commands and then has to be closed by force,......happened to me more than a few times....im not really sure y this happens i think its the errors in the script running on the page if i was u i would close any unneccesary pages that are still up and minimize the 1's that u need up for things like quick time until they are complete...if not u need to adjust the internet tools for internet explorer to set what kind of things it allows..

It crashes, umm spits up an illegal error, or with IE6 it brings up the thing to submit a bug report. Its really bugging me cuz there are things i wanna d/l of 3dfiles, like 3dmark2k1, no matter which mirror i try i get same problem. Like i said, it seems to work fine with my old computer (networked with this one, sharing cable net acces). I hate using the old computer cuz its soo slow, pentium 133. Help!

Was the latest format and install when you added the additional ram ? Big jump from 128mb to 620mb, especially seeing that Win98 SE doesn't like anymore than 512mb.
If you have gone beyond 512mb there are other system changes you must make, there have been numerous posts on these changes in this forum. If you haven't made those changes I suggest you search for the articles and do so, may solve your problems.

As well you might want to get into Internet Properties and the Advanced tab. Put a check in "Disable script dubugging and take the check out of "Display a notification about every script error".

Do the Repair Tool by double clicking on the Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and Internet tools in your Add/Remove Programs of the control panel. Put a dot in Repair.

These kinds of problems may occur when multitasking while downloading and installing Windows Updates. I.E. is very much a part of your O/S. It's not a good idea to do anything else while performing the updates. You are updating your O/S. Don't take any chances on corruption of your system files.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Public Preview is beta ware. I would advise against any beta ware from Product Updates site. Being a guini pig for Microsoft can be harmfull to your computers health.
You must have seen the Canadian Cigarette package on this!?

Cheers!

Oh and uninstall the bug reporting tool.

Go to http://www.98lite.net and download IEradicate so you can unload IE. Then once its gone re-install it and it should work better.
