I found a possible solution to the current problem in Warcraft III

"Fatal Error, c0000005 Memory could not be 'read'"

The solution is to adjust your Ram timings in the Bios to either below the default specs (set by the Bios) or return the specs to normal (if you adjusted your specs upward). If you haven't adjusted your timing you might want to consider retarding your ram timing to make it more fail-safe.

Tom's Hardware wrote an article on adjusting your Ram in the bios, except that my solution goes the other way.

Read here;

http://www4.tomshardware.com/howto/20030701/memory_tuning-10.html

to learn how to adjust your Ram in the bios.

For the whole article at Tom’s Hardware go here;

Please provide feedback on this solution so ‘we’ (the Warcraft Community) can get an idea of how well it works.

Ehhh...that would mean your mem isnt stable at those settings-not the app or games fault in that case. Good testing when oclocking mem would avoid that all together. And if mine did it at stock level the fix wouldnt be underclocking it-it would be returning it (R.M.A. time baby!).....thats why I buy stuff I can with life-time warrentys. Ive never gotten that error on WC3.:t

I know it's not the apps fault, I'm just letting people know that this is one of the solutions, It is the ram's fault (mostly) -

Many people have this problem, and it was really messing up my style. :t (It's hard to game for 3-4 hrs straight it the game keeps crashing on you - It's like being dragged kicking and screaming into reality)

I am not sure how relevant this is to the wc3 subject but I have also had this c0000005 error message. I cannot play Diablo2 or run internet explorer for 5 minutes without receiving an error message having to do with c0000005. Besides this, I cannot run other programs including counter strike or No one lives forever without the program closing and giving an error message that says
cstrike(or No one lives forever) has caused an error in <unknown>
I have no idea what this means or how to fix it. I have recently had help installing a new video card (geforce ti4200) and downloaded the recent drivers. Does this have anything to do with the problem and how can I fix this?
Thanks alot

You should post a question on your problem in a new thread.

Otherwise I'd suggest that you re-seat the graphics card and run a memmory test.
