I am having some probs with internet explorer when browing the web...until recently I was able to view pages very fast (broadband connection) and over the last week or so something has changed. When i try to view a web page....IE sortoff sticks ....kinda like it isnt getting the data from the site. This deos this on nearly every web page I try to view. On some occasions...it casues a Not Responding error. Very Annoying.
Arround the same this this started...I uninstalled TweakXP Pro. Has any of the settings changed that I cant find? Any recommendations?
Thanks

why not try a different browser altogether.
www.mozilla.org and try firebird or the chunky 1.4 , I'm pleased with firebird.:)

Go thru internet options and start setting defaults, in connections make sure never dial is tikked, same for the lan settings button cable works fine without anything being tikked in there.

I have gone into settings and checked as above. Everything set back to default...but still seem to be getting this jamming thing. Still getting good download speed from modem...so I guess that my connection is all good.

Hmm, maybe something to do with the virii knocking about. The same has happened recently to me. My firewall log shows my machine has an attempted ping roughly every 10 seconds 24/7 the net is pretty busy at the moment. I'm also assuming that ISP servers etc are working hard to contain the problem so there are probably extra checks being imposed on incoming/outgoing traffic!

can't say I've noticed any reduction in browsing, streaming or downloading speeds even with blaster and sobig at their height.

Its extremely variable I must admit, on occasions pages load first time, other times I need to hit refresh to get them to display. It may be the fact that my firewall is processing hits but like bblqj78, it seems a tad slower and has occured within the last few weeks!
67 hits in 21 minutes

Ironically enough, I'm experiencing the same thing here Stateside on my broadband connection. Exactly how you describe it, plus I keep flopping from Opera to IE and it doesn't matter. I was d/ling Call of Duty off of fileplanet and getting very good speeds (~100kb/s).
On both browsers and my outlook things are going sloooooow.
Although, I am not ruling out my retarded housemate did something to our router (wireless).

on my old 56k, i had it set so that it would store/cache websites so they would load faster, could this be a similar thing? check to see if caching is enabled/disabled
