Voice activated mic

How would i go about making my mic activated while playing a game like CS?

one of the things that cs puts in your start menu is voice setup...run that to calibrate your mic

then in the game, make sure you have the voice option selected...and be sure to assign a keyboard key to turn it on....then in the game, just hit that key, talk, and let go...worked for me :)

yeah i know about that holding the key and talking thats how i been using it... but my question is how do i make it voice activated e.g. i dont have to hold down any key...
please help....:confused:

maybe...........put a stone on the assigned key and play, so when you talk your always heard :D

i know its funny and all but there must be some software that accomplishes what i am looking for here
i even know one Ventrilo, but i am not sure how to get it to work with CS...

tell everyone to use teamspeak. it has the copability to use voice activation.

Roger Wilco works for me and my friends. It's relatively small, easily config'd, and works with everything.

The other alternative is GameVoice, but it's pricey because it comes with its own hardware (headphones, boom mike, switch).

Roger wilco does is that only to talk to ur friends or with anyone in CS? if with anyone how do u set it up??

Roger Wilco is a separate app that runs outside any game. We've used it with CS, HL, TFC, BF1942. It does require that your friends (or teammates) also have RW. That way, you can taunt, yell, or otherwise harass each other. For a VoIP app, it's the cleanest I've found so far (I've tried SpeakFreely, GV, NetMeeting, etc.). RW can be downloaded from here:

Even though it's shareware ($20), it's fully functional, and set up is straightforward:

0. Let everyone know your IP address and channel name (you choose) ahead of time.
1. Create an RW session
2. Give your session the channel name. It will end up being IP:port/channel, e.g.,

XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:3782/channelname

3. Set a password (optional)
4. You can also choose to hide the session from public access.
5. Wait for people to pop in.
6. You can set up PTT or VA. Volume and sensitivity are adjustable.

Teamspeak is a much better program than RW. Able to create sperate channels, it can hold of to 64 people per chanel. The sound quality is much better, no spyware, and plus its free.
