After getting my girlfriends new computer (1.2 ghz, 256ram, 40gig HD, 10x10x32 cdrw, 6xDVD http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif at the Valley forge computer show (in PA), i plug the parts in and get this......

Not the best thing to see when some of the parts come from miles around http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Just re-install an "English" version of windows and that should fix it. Of course you may never be able to understand your BIOS without a Flash.

Well, now you have no excuse not to expand your lingual skills. LOL

I'll keep that in mind when I head off to the Market Pro Show this weekend. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Would you care to specify the name of the vendor that sold that thing to you?

ps I hope you got a killer deal. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

I think the first thing you should do it remove the hard drive, clear CMOS, reset bios defaults, then boot it with a clean floppy and flash the bios.

Then zap or wipe the hard drive and start from fresh without any virus.

Does the mobo have integrated Video or is a video card installed?
This has nothing to do with the way it looks.

But your only showing 246mb of ram.
Unless its showing a 4 instead of a 5.

You know, its going to be like a tune stuck in your head that you don't like. I'm going to be giggling about that for days. People will think I'm nuts. Thanks. Jesus, let us know where that came from.

Well magically the card seems to have sovled the problem by itself. So hopefully it stays that way..... As to where i got the card, some place in Exton PA. Then name of the place escapes, but i do have the receipt at home.

Oh yeah after i got the computer running (and after i made this post and before things got better), windows became it's own paint program. If i moved the pointer it looked like i was spraying a can of pink spray paint over the desktop. And if i moved it back and forth in one place it would make that whole area pink http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif . Very intresting.

Where can I get one of those??? For the people that won't pay their troubleshooting bills, I would like to give them something a little extra on their machines....

Cheers!
