I'm building my brother a new comp soon. it will be for video editing and gaming for when he leaves for college in a month. He'll be majoring in broadcasting/film production, btw. I've figured out all the specs, but i'm wondering about the video card. i was going to get a ti4200 with vivo so he could play games and do video editing with the vivo capabilities. But what other video cards should i consider? thanks

A 9600 or 9600 Pro is more comparable.

If you want to go with the Nvidia cards, then get either a Ti4200 or the FX 5600 or 5600 Ultra are close.
Ati, then go with the 9600 or 9600 Pro.
Did some researching about an hour ago on these same cards, since I already have a Ti4200. Was looking for something faster without spending over $200, but, with what I found, I'm sticking with my Ti4200.

a TI 4200 with FSAA and AF turned up, versus a 9500 Pro with FSAA and AF turned up...hmm....
as for myself i'm an NVidia guy, i'm sticking with my 4600 until the 5900 ultras come down in price
