It seems that alot of people dont know about it so i am just going to post the site for everone to make use of here it is:

go get CS 1.6 its free doesnt require a CD key (just a broadband connection)
moderators maybe make it a sticky for some time so folks can all get it

steam load up, but cs 1.6 won't for me...freezes when i try to start a game :( guess i'll have to reinstall

i dont like 1.6 really that much, it has a different feel to it. also the pistols seem much much more stronger, i can own a whole terrorist team with a riot shield and deagle or even with a glock.
the new guns are cool FAMAS, and Galil, but overrall i dislike it its too different and seems a bit slower paced for some reason
I am currently using CS 1.5 and it's quite good.

I agree.. I had steam 1.6 installed for a while, but it just felt too awkward for me.. Some of the upgrades are pretty cool and probably worth checking out, but it wasn't for me. Also, it seems to me like Steam installs a bit of excess stuff on my machine..
After my recent format and clean install, I'm a little more wary of any program that installs "additional" apps on my system.

You guys do realize that they can alter the installed code of your client WITHOUT you even knowing about it, or them even notifying you. Kind of heavy-handed, don't you think?
