Who plays this awesome Halflife mod? It can be described as a FPS version of Starcraft.

I played it for a few months. Its alot of fun if you get a good team the likes to play together. If that teamwork isn't there or you don't have a thoughtful commander its a little frustrating.

i tried it, it was very complicated (course im sure alot of the confusion was due to how choppy my 8mb savage card made everything) so i didnt get into it. ill check out 2.0 once i get my new comp done though.

I do. It is as close to an ideal FPS + RTS game as I've ever seen. And yes, teamwork is essential. The troops have to trust the Marine commander, who has to know how to manage resources and people. I've played on servers where the Marines simply get massacred in the face of a strong lurk attack from many directions. In those cases, the commander had no idea what to do. I think that a good Age of Empires 2 player would make a decent commander. As far as the aliens are concerned, teamwork is maximized by planning evolutions, until the really scary forms (Fade, etc.) are achieved. In either case, training is critical, and practice with bots very advantageous. I generally play with a few net friends on my server, which is set up to allow my kids to play via LAN. But I do venture out from time to time. :) Look for me as NuclearOption, which is also my TFC handle.

Compooter, you can play on either side. The bots that are available do a decent job as aliens, although as humans, I think they need a little help. For instance, a bot commander is not that effective at thinking about what's best for his team at the moment (like when the squad is getting bitten to death, and need medpacks). I think you'll like the alien attacks - bite, web, slash, spit, etc. They have no guns, but they can close the range awful fast. One form can fly, while others can climb walls. More surprises await...
