DDR (Double Data Rate) Memory is designed to do clock speeds up to twice as fast as standard SDRAM. DDR Memory has a data transfer rate of up to 266Mhz.

Apparently, a system with DDR or Rambus memory will only get about a 10% performance increase over the same system using PC133.

10 percent?! :O i am was here thinking it was 100 maybe 1000% faster than pc133. so, basically it is not worth the extra money huh?

If you've already got PC133 (or even maybe PC100), I don't think it's worth upgrading. If I was building a new machine now from scratch, I'd probably get DDR (I think the prices for PC133 and DDR are about the same).

As Dudster said, it's not worth upgrading if you already have PC133. For longevity of a new system, however, I would suggest building with a DDR motherboard (errr Maximum PC suggests http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif).
